・Foreign nationals whose expiration date for the period of stay is in May or June are also covered now.
・Applications from foreign nationals whose expiration date for the period of stay is March or April will also be accepted for a period of three months from the expiration date of the period of stay.
・Those who are staying with the status of residence of “Temporary Visitor” have also been included.
・This includes those who are required to apply for acquisition of a status of residence in March, April, May or June such as those who were born in Japan.

Crowd Control for Immigration Counter to Prevent Spread of Coronavirus (COV-19)
For persons whose Status of Residence expire during the month of March1 (excluding Temporary Visitor and Designated Activities (Departure Preparation Period) visas) and are trying to submit an “Application for Change of Status of Residence” or an “Application for Extension of Period of Stay”, applicable foreign residents may submit their applications up to one (1) month after the expiration date of your current Status of Residence.
1 Attention: This includes persons who are applying for new visas during the month of March, such as registering the birth of a baby.
